Our attorney offers a variety of legal services. Whether you're getting married, divorced, or reconciling, whether you're fighting for or against adoption, paternity, custody, child support, parenting time or spousal maintenance, don't try to figure it out on your own. Fixing a mistake caused by a lack of legal representation or inadequate legal representation is always much more difficult and costly, if not outright impossible. We offer low cost initial telephone consultations for just this reason and always advise potential clients if costly legal representation is unnecessary.

Searching instead for representation for your children's best interests?  Your children may benefit from the assistance of a Court Appointed Guardian Ad Litem:

A Guardian Ad Litem is a professional who is appointed by the Court as a separate, neutral and independent third party to your family law case and who is charged with the duty of conducting an investigation into the lives of your children to determine what is in their best interests.  A Guardian Ad Litem performs such an investigation by conducting in-home or in-office visits, performing telephone interviews of friends, family and professionals involved in your children’s lives, reviewing any documents or records that may assist in a determination on family law issues, then providing to the Court by way of written report a summary of the investigation performed, findings related to that investigation and specific recommendations as to what the Guardian Ad Litem believes to be in your children’s best interest for such family law issues as custody and parenting time.

How will a Guardian Ad Litem help your children?

A Guardian Ad Litem is permitted to review any and all evidence relevant to a determination on family law matters, regardless of whether that evidence would be admissible in Court pursuant to the applicable rules of evidence. Furthermore, a court appointed Guardian Ad Litem will spend time with your children and your family to fully investigate every critical issue involved in your family law matter.  The Guardian Ad Litem maintains neutrality with respect to both parents (or guardians, grandparents and stepparents as the case may be) to focus solely on representing the best interests of the children involved.

Bethany J. Beckman has been appointed by the Courts as a Guardian Ad Litem, acting in the best interests of children in family law cases, from March of 2010 to December of 2018. When appointed by the Court to act as a Guardian Ad Litem, she will ensure a full and complete investigation which further ensures her ability to make the necessary and appropriate recommendations she believes to be in your children's best interests.
